What to Bring

Insurance Information

Please bring your insurance card and a photo ID. If you're unsure about your coverage for eye care, we're happy to help verify your benefits before your appointment.

Current Glasses and Contact Lenses

Bring any glasses or contact lenses you currently wear, even if you think the prescription is outdated. This helps us understand your vision history.

List of Medications

A current list of all medications you take, including over-the-counter drugs and supplements, is important. Many medications can affect your eyes and some eye conditions are related to overall health.

Medical History

Information about any previous eye problems, surgeries, or injuries, as well as relevant medical conditions like diabetes or high blood pressure.

Sunglasses

Your pupils will likely be dilated during the exam, which can make your eyes sensitive to light for several hours. Having sunglasses for the drive home will make you more comfortable.

Plan for Your Day

Allow Enough Time

Comprehensive eye exams typically take 60-90 minutes, especially for first visits. We take the time needed to thoroughly evaluate your eyes and answer your questions.

Arrange Transportation if Needed

While most patients can drive after their appointment, your vision may be blurry for a few hours after dilation. If you're concerned about this, consider having someone drive you home or plan to wait at our office until your vision clears.

Come Ready to Ask Questions

Write down any concerns or questions you have about your eyes or vision. There's no such thing as a silly question.

When You Arrive
